Brownie and Girl Scout programs at Fabricland

Fabricland is pleased to announce the opening of our newly expanded Sewing School here in North Plainfield and we are particularly delighted to work with Scout troops throughout New Jersey.  Listed below are special activities for Scouts that fulfill some of the requirements necessary toward getting Sewing Badges.  Scout leaders should check their guidebooks to determine their troops’ needs.  To arrange appointments or obtain further information, call our Education Director at 908-755-4700 ext. 107.

"Sew Simple" Tour

For girls ages 8-17
Free.
Groups of 8 or less visit the pattern, fabrics, notions, trim and sewing machine departments and learn about the ’world of sewing’ through a fun and informative 45−minute "after-school" tour.

"Scouts Can Machine Sew" Workshop

For girls ages 10-17
$20 per person, including supplies.
For Scouts that have never sewn on a machine and have a desire to learn, this is a great class!  A hands­on class for groups of 10 or less, this two hour program will show her basic sewing skills including how to sew straight, measuring, cutting and sewing safety, all while making a tote bag they keep.

"Scouts Can Hand Sew" Workshop

$20 per person, including supplies.
For girls ages 9-17.
A hand sewing class for groups of 8 or less.  This two−hour program teaches basic hand stitching using needle, thread and felt.  Kids will learn various basic stitching along with how to sew on button while making their projects.
