SEWING MACHINE DEPARTMENT OPENS AT NASSAUS

Bruce Heyman, owner of Nassaus Window Fashions, Route 17 North in Paramus, has announced the opening of a new Bernina Sewing Machine Department  located within the store's decorative fabrics area . The store will officially "kick off" the new department on Saturday, September 8 when Bernina educator and designer, Marthe Young,  presents a free seminar at Nassaus  from 10 am to 12 noon.

During  that time, she will demonstrate how to use the computerized embroidery  software available on Bernina's new 180 machine -- one of the industry's most high-tech styles. This model, which is popular with quilters and home decorative sewers,   can be hooked up to a desktop computer to download images  that convert into embroidery and quilting stitches. In addition, Marthe will give an overview of Bernina's other sewing machine models available at Nassaus.

The new sewing machine department, which is managed by Nik Reschetnjak,  is located in the store's home decorative fabric department. Here, more than  500 in-stock fabrics are available "by the yard", in addition to another 500 samples that can be ordered and delivered within two days.

This free sewing program on September 8 is open to the general public and  is  being coordinated in association with the North Jersey American Sewing Guild.

When the  Bernina  program ends at 12 noon,  Nassaus will provide a  free box lunch and bus transportation to its sister store, Fabric Land, in North Plainfield for an afternoon shopping trip.  Fabric Land contains more than 5,000 fabrics by the yard -- including a full quilting department. The bus is  scheduled  to return to Nassaus parking lot around 4 pm.  To sign up for this free afternoon of sewing and shopping, call Nassaus  at 201-261-3500.
