New Jersey's Largest Fabric and Window Fashions Retailers --

FABRICLAND AND NASSAUS WINDOW FASHIONS

Fabricland of North Plainfield, one of the largest and most unique home decorating stores in New Jersey , has won many awards and accolades in its 68 year history . Under the ownership of third generation family member, Bruce Heyman, the store continues to grow to newdimensions, expanding it with the purchase two years ago of Nassaus Window Fashions in Paramus andbecoming the first Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Gallery dealer in New Jersey. Today, the company, which boasts" the largest selection of window fashions and drapery hardware, decorator fabrics and trimmings in the state" , continues its efforts to stay focused on Heyman's personal mission -- to provide excellent, knowledgeable service to its customers.

"What's special about our stores is that we offer the consumer the combination of custom-made,ready-made and do-it-yourself home fashions," cites Mr. Heyman. "Both stores are filled with a selection of window fashions that feature more than 300 sample windows on display for literally thousands of styles of draperies, swags, shades and blinds in a wide assortment of colors, patterns and textures. We also carry the largest selection of in-stock decorator fabrics by the yard in the state -- including designer patterns from Ralph Lauren, Martha Stewart, Laura Ashley and many more. We're able to discount these fabrics by 50% because we buy directly from the mills, eliminate the middleman costs and give our customers the break."

Fabricland and Nassaus are both family-owned businesses that focus on product diversity and customer service. The stores have very knowledgeable staffs -- many with more than 20 years experience -- which has helped to forge a close bond with their customers and the community.

Fabricland, located at 855 Route 22 in North Plainfield, is divided into five departments - - ready-made home fashions, custom home fashions, decorator fabrics and trims, dress fabrics and sewing machines. The most impressive aspect of this "fabric and home fashion department store" is the depth of its merchandise.

The ready-made home fashions department features in-stock draperies, shades, blinds and today's hottest window fashion -- the scarf valance. Its decorative hardware collection includes every new type of product from wrought iron rods and elegant wood poles with crystal finials to wall sconces and scarf tie-backs and holders in brass, antique white and cherry wood. Both Fabricland and Nassaus, located at 450 Route 17 North in Paramus, also feature a "Waverly Lifestyles" Department with coordinated bedroom ensembles as well as table linens, decorative pillows and bath accessories.

For the "do-it-yourself" decorator, the stores carry Bernina sewing machines along with thousands of bolts of in-stock, first quality decorative fabrics from Waverly, Covington, P. Kaufman ,Bloomcraft and many more. Each week, special in-store "how to" demonstrations are presented -- including step-by-step methods for making window scarfs, swags and jabots, no-sew valances, cornices and other decorative home accessories. In addition, a comprehensive design seminar-- complete with fabric and photo boards -- is also scheduled each month to give shoppers ideas on new decorating trends, colors, fabrics and trims -- how to combine them in the home.

For custom decorating services, Fabricland and Nassaus offer a free Shop at Home service where talented decorators come directly to your home or office for a no-cost, no-obligation decorating consultation.

In-store, their team of decorators work with you to select fabrics, colors and styles for every room of your Home -- using extensive displays of specialty draperies and window treatments help shoppers to "zero in" on the best style for their rooms. "If you see a window treatment you like in any design magazine, we can usually duplicate it", cites Mr. Heyman. In addition , customers can purchase sofas and chairs -- upholstered in newly selected fabrics or have their old ones re-upholstered and updated. Here, custom bedspreads, comforters, duvet covers, pillow shams, bedskirts, tabletoppers and lots more can also be designed in any fabric and style.

"Our goal is to help the customer 'pull it all together' with coordinating fabrics, colors and styling.", said Heyman, "and we get lots of compliments on our excellent workmanship and installations".

Both Fabricland and Nassaus also house the Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Galleries -- which carry the full line of their custom and motorized shades and blinds including Silhouette window shadings,Luminette Privacy Sheers, Duette homecomb shades, Vignette window shades, Palm Beach custom shutters and more . These spacious Galleries enable the shopper to view and operate the range of products and select the treatment that will best complement their home environment.
