On Saturday, January 31 at 10 a.m., Jackie Fuchs, a Basking Ridge resident and president of the New Jersey chapter, Interior Design Society, will present a free one-hour seminar at Fabricland in North Plainfield on the philosophy, practice of and spiritual approach to Feng Shui and how its principles affect the balance, energy and harmony within our homes.

Feng Shui , which means "wind and water" in Chinese, deals directly with the relationship between human beings and their environment -- including furniture placement and space planning, colors, textures and interior decorating techniques. Good feng shui not only makes people feel more comfortable in their surroundings, but can also dramatically improve health and spiritual well-being, increase prosperity, enhance relationships with others, foster creativity, boost morale, improve productivity and business performance.

The Feng Shui program at Fabricland, located at 855 Route 22 in North Plainfield, is free and open to the public. No registration is required, but seating is limited.
