A lifelong resident of Bergen County, NJ, Janet works in New York City and divides her time between Metropolitan Window Fashions’ two locations – 469 Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side and at 189 East 79th Street on the Upper East Side. In addition to working with residents all over Manhattan, Janet is the company’s design liaison and works closely with interior designers who seek her expertise for window treatments. Before becoming a decorator 16 years ago, Janet graduated from Lyon Institute and started her career as a medical assistant and office manager. Today, Janet helps her clients by making the process of fabric and style selection fun and easy. She’s got great confidence in her design skills and an excellent eye for color and detail. Best of all, she LOVES her job! The mother of one son, Janet’s interests include theatre and opera, fine wines and dining, visiting museums and traveling – citing Italy as her favorite vacation spot. She was, however, always an avid sewer and worked part-time in a window treatment workroom - sewing and constructing all styles of window fashions. She helped her friends and family – and realized that creating beautiful window designs was her passion. She has been working for MWF for the past 8 years and recently honed her skills by completing a professional decorating course offered by the Interior Design Society (IDS) of America. She has also received extensive product training from Hunter Douglas and is a certified color consultant from Sherwin Williams and has been a top performer in the company for the past three years.
